The Structural Steel BIM Modeler will be responsible for developing detailed 3D BIM models for structural steel works using Autodesk Revit and Tekla Structures. The role involves modeling steel members, connections, bracing systems, platforms, stairs, and associated components, as well as preparing shop drawings and fabrication drawings. The candidate will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, resolve clashes, and ensure compliance with project BIM standards and LOD requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 3D BIM models for structural steel structures using Tekla Structures and Autodesk Revit.
• Model steel members, connections, bracing systems, platforms, stairs, handrails, and other structural steel components.
• Prepare and update structural steel shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and erection drawings.
• Coordinate structural steel models with architectural, structural, and MEP models.
• Perform clash detection and resolve coordination issues using Autodesk Navisworks.
• Incorporate approved design revisions, site modifications, and construction changes into BIM models.
• Extract quantities and prepare BIM-related reports, schedules, and documentation.
• Ensure model accuracy and compliance with project BIM standards, LOD requirements, and approved procedures.
• Coordinate with structural engineers, BIM coordinators, and fabrication teams to resolve technical issues.
• Support the preparation of steel fabrication and installation deliverables.
• Maintain model integrity and ensure timely submission of BIM deliverables.
• Participate in BIM coordination meetings and implement agreed actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in structural steel BIM modeling.
• Extensive experience in 3D steel modeling, shop drawings, and fabrication drawings.
• Experience working on large-scale commercial, industrial, infrastructure, or building projects.
• Strong understanding of structural steel components, fabrication methods, and erection procedures.

Technical Skills

• Tekla Structures: Advanced skills in 3D steel modeling, connection detailing, and fabrication drawings.
• Autodesk Revit: Structural steel modeling and BIM coordination.
• Autodesk Navisworks: Clash detection and multidisciplinary coordination.
• AutoCAD: Preparation and modification of structural steel drawings.
• BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud: Model sharing and collaboration.
• Knowledge of steel fabrication, connection detailing, material specifications, and erection drawings.
• Understanding of BIM workflows, LOD requirements, and BIM Execution Plans.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in complex structural steel projects, including industrial facilities, stadiums, commercial buildings, and large-scale developments.
• Experience preparing fabrication, assembly, and erection drawings.
• Knowledge of steel connections, bolted and welded joints, and fabrication requirements.
• Experience coordinating with structural engineers, detailers, and construction teams.
