Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement project-specific QA/QC plans, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and quality control procedures for civil and concrete works.
  • Ensure all civil construction activities, particularly concrete-related tasks, comply with project specifications, local codes, and international standards (e.g., ACI, ASTM, BS).
  • Review and approve civil engineering designs, concrete mix designs, material submittals, and method statements related to concrete works.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to verify the quality of construction works including concrete pouring, rebar installation, formwork, foundations, structural elements, and finishes.
  • Oversee concrete testing and inspection activities, including slump tests, cube/cylinder sampling, compressive strength tests, and temperature monitoring.
  • Identify and document non-conformances specific to concrete activities, and coordinate corrective and preventive actions with the construction team.
  • Collaborate with site engineers, construction managers, subcontractors, and consultants to resolve quality-related issues promptly.
  • Attend project meetings to provide updates on QA/QC activities, with a focus on concrete quality performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of all inspections, tests, concrete mix approvals, and QA/QC documentation.
  • Provide training and guidance to the construction team on QA/QC best practices related to concrete and civil works.
  • Stay updated with industry standards and practices related to concrete construction and civil engineering.
  • Ensure that all QA/QC activities are conducted in compliance with company HSE policies and procedures.
  • Report any safety hazards or incidents identified during inspections.
    

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in QA/QC roles within the construction industry, specifically with hands-on experience in concrete works.
  • Proven experience working with main contractors on large-scale civil and structural projects.
  • Strong knowledge of concrete construction techniques, materials, testing procedures, and relevant standards (e.g., ASTM, ACI, BS).
  • Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with QA/QC tools and documentation systems is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications in QA/QC or civil engineering (e.g., Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), ASQ, PMP) are an advantage.
